What our guest says? |
|
|

“Our Upper Mustang trip was made possible by the expertise of the guides who did their utmost to accommodate our party. Hiring the horses made all the difference. The cook managed wonderful filling meals (and added snacks) under difficult conditions. Thank you Dil. Our sherpas and porters were always very helpful polite and considerate. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you.”

Until recent years, this Tran- Himalayan region was
closed for foreigners. Nesting on the Tibetan boarder,
this region is dominated by giants Annapurna and Dhaulagiri
massif. Situated at the head of the Kali Gandaki in
north central Nepal, the little-known district of
Mustang is naturally and culturally attractive, in
particular, origin of Tibet. Tourists in Upper Mustang
can opt for the strangely eroded landscape of this
remote territory that presents a vibrant mosaic of
earth colors- red, yellows, browns and blues. This
location is bestowed with ecological diversities,
delightful views of snowy peaks, colorful village,
monasteries, ancient palaces. Get connect with NATURE
AND EXPERIENCE DIVERSE CULTURE!

| THE TEECHI FESTIVAL TOUR |
The Teechi (also pronounced "Teeji" festival is an annual event indigenous to Lo-Manthang (Upper Mustang). The name is an abbreviation of the word "Tempa Chirim" which translates as "Prayer for World Peace". This festival commemorates the victory of Lord Buddha's incarnation "Dorjee Sonnu" over a demon called Man Tam Ru, a vicious creature feeding on human beings and causing storms and droughts.
The Teeji festival usually takes place during the last week of May and lasts for 3 days. Dances permormed by the monks of Lo Manthang's "choedhe" monastery during the cerebration display. The harassment of Ma Tam Ru Ta (in a dance called "Tsa Chham" on the first day), the birth of Dorjee Sunnu as the demon's son (on the second day called "Nga Chham'), the attempt to return the demon to lord Buddha's realm (on the third and final day). The Teeji festival dances are all organized by the Choedhe Monastery, which is that of the Sakya sect of Lo Manthang.
